A sprinkle of creative seasoning for Halen Môn

It’s not everyday that you can say a brand has true ‘heart and soul’. But Halen Môn is one of those rare finds – an outstanding product made by a company with a real difference and sense of self.
Halen Môn Sea Salt has been made by The Anglesey Sea Salt Company (TASSC) since 1997 and it has steadily grown in popularity, building a profile as a premium, gourmet product. Halen Môn – which is Welsh for ‘Anglesey Salt’ – is now available in a range of varieties and is stocked at M&S and Waitrose, as well as being used by leading chefs around the world.

Our objective was to build on this foundation; refreshing the company’s brand, its visual language, packaging, website and, in the long term, transforming Halen Môn into an iconic brand, doubling the turnover and profit.
From research into the customers and the market we knew we needed to reposition Halen Môn to really inspire their customers imaginations and build love, loyalty and passion for the brand. Our work encompassed a new logotype, typography, packaging, colour palette and tone of voice but only after defining the Halen Môn Vision, Promise and Values.
From there, every communication needed to be aligned with this new thinking, supporting Halen Môn’s long-term goals. So we set about addressing the brand’s core communications: creating an instantly recognisable illustration and rolling this out across packaging.
Since launching the new brand, Halen Môn has seen a huge increase in enquiries, received overwhelmingly positive feedback from those familiar with the ‘old’ brand and successfully taken a big step towards becoming an official supplier to the Olympics 2012. The future looks very positive and we’re well on course to deliver the business objectives.
But in many ways the end of this project is just the beginning of a new journey. And we’ll be staying with Halen Môn for many years to come.
